Overview

A keloid is a hard growth of scar tissue that forms around an injury such as a wound, puncture or burn after healing. It can affect any part of the body but is commonly found on the cheeks, earlobes and shoulders. Keloids are not life-threatening but can create concerns about appearance.

How it works

Intralesional steroid injection, liquid nitrogen cryotherapy or laser is used to flatten and soften the scar tissue.

The procedure
