HOW TO PREPARE FOR TREATMENT

Discontinue steroids, anti-inflammatory and blood thinning medications 4 days- a
week before treatment

Have a good meal and stay hydrated
WHAT TO EXPECT

The practitioner will talk you through the procedure to inform you of what is involved.

Your blood is drawn – usually from the arm – and is separated using a centrifuge. The
prepared platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is applied to the treatment area either topically or via
injection.
WHO IS NOT SUITABLE

Patients with the tendency to bleed or bruise easily
EXPECTED OUTCOME

Some mild tenderness and redness following the procedure, but this is usually mild
and resolves within 3-5 days
